2 years of work, that can't be told in a single word!
Surprises around every corner, joys, sweaty moments (92 bags of rubble brought down from the 2nd floor because the chute hired for this purpose wasn't working!), trips to the waste collection centre, machines digging up our beautiful garden to bury a small 9,000-litre tank, kilometres of rails and plasterboard, hectolitres of paint, countless brush strokes, lots of restored furniture.
The icing on the cake was the 10-day power cut caused by the storm in November 2023.
(A big thank you to Sylviane and Michel, the former owners, who, worried that we were going to run away, were kind enough to bring us some hot soup, homemade of course. (Believe me, we've never been so happy to be eating soup!)
But in the midst of all this, there were also some real moments of pleasure: the delicious cherries from the garden that delighted us, the devoted sheep and goats who took their job of mowing the lawn to heart for 3 months (thanks Cédric) and a warm welcome from all the neighbours, but above all, the joy of being here and saying to ourselves ‘this is it’. Despite all that, we stuck to our guns and built something that reflects who we are. Because deep down, every moment, even the most difficult, was part of the adventure.
Today, we're proud to be able to welcome you to a place that has weathered so many adventures (and storms!) to become what it is: a unique place, where every nook and cranny tells a story. Welcome to our home...
